Climate, Environment and Community Cooperation

Status: Active

Helping children and young people care for their environment and strengthen cooperation.

Purpose

To enable children and young people to take part in safe, practical environmental activities that build knowledge, agency and cooperation within their communities.

The challenge

Environmental stress can affect health, education and livelihoods, and may contribute to tensions over shared resources. Campaigns can be ineffective or unsafe if they ignore local priorities, land rights or adult responsibilities.

How C4P works

C4P works with schools, community groups and qualified environmental partners to design age-appropriate activities that connect environmental learning with cooperation and local resilience.

Priority activities

  • Environmental education and climate literacy.
  • School or community clean-up and restoration activities where safe and approved.
  • Participant-informed campaigns on water conservation, waste reduction or biodiversity.
  • Dialogue between young people and adults on local environmental concerns.
  • Climate-sensitive peace education where resource pressures affect relationships.
  • Links to environmental organisations and technical expertise.

What makes it distinctive

Environmental action is connected to cooperation and participation, while hazardous work, unsafe sites and technical tasks remain the responsibility of trained adults.

Who it serves

Children, adolescents and young people, schools, youth groups and communities facing environmental challenges.
