Vision
A peaceful and inclusive Sub-Saharan Africa where every child and young person is safe, respected, heard and able to contribute to a better future.
Protect. Listen. Build Peace.
Children for Peace (C4P) is a child- and youth-centred peacebuilding organisation working across Sub-Saharan Africa. We support children, adolescents and young people to understand their rights, develop peaceful relationships and participate safely in building more cohesive communities. We work with families, schools, community organisations, civil society and institutions to create environments where young people can learn, contribute and thrive.
A peaceful and inclusive Sub-Saharan Africa where every child and young person is safe, respected, heard and able to contribute to a better future.
To advance the rights and the meaningful, safe participation of children and young people in peacebuilding through learning, community action, protection, evidence, voice and partnerships across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Every decision is tested against the best interests of children and young people.
We model and teach constructive ways to resolve disagreement.
People choose whether and how to take part; their views influence decisions.
We reach girls, boys, young women and men, displaced people and people with disabilities.
Safety comes before visibility, speed or funding.
Local actors lead; approaches fit context.
We measure honestly and share what we learn, including limitations.
We partner transparently and respect partners’ identities.
C4P recognises children and young people as capable contributors. Adults, institutions and authorities retain responsibility for their protection and wellbeing.
C4P’s work is focused on Sub-Saharan Africa, a region with diverse languages, histories, institutions and community realities. Our approach is designed for adaptation, not uniform implementation. The Where We Work page identifies active countries, partner-supported countries and planned engagement transparently.
Responsible partnerships turn local ideas into lasting action.
