- Disclosure of trauma
- No child or youth is required to share a painful story. Facilitators trained in no-forced-disclosure and referral. Public showcase excludes graphic accounts of abuse or violence.
- Open submissions
- No unmoderated uploads, comments, likes or direct messaging for under-18s. All submissions pass through a safeguarding reviewer before publication.
- Right to withdraw
- Contributors, and guardians for under-18s, can request removal at any time through a dedicated, child-friendly route; a documented takedown procedure applies, including social media.
- Adult exploitation of stories
- Stories are not used for fundraising or publicity beyond the consent given. No donor-facing use of images or stories without a separate consent.
- Tokenism
- Show how contributions influenced decisions. Credit contributors as they choose. Do not present any child or young person as representing all children or a whole community.
